August 4, 2008 While the Unemployment Rate Rises to 5.7 Percent, one Industry Remains "Recession Proof"
While at first glance the U.S. economy may seem to be the worst in years, there are still a few industries that have prevailed and even added jobs in this year of economic downturn. And despite the economic gloom, there is one fact of life that the market cannot ignore: retirement.
As the years progress, more and more baby boomers retire and consequently, need additional healthcare. In July, the healthcare industry saw an addition of 33,000 new jobs. And in the past twelve months, 368,000 new jobs were added as well. Many predict this industry will continue to grow, especially with continued technological advances and improvements.
Recently we posted a blog regarding
career change and in the interest of our readers, we can’t help but suggest this industry as a possibility. There are many, many jobs related to healthcare, whether they are in Marketing, Information Technology, Accounting, and others.
